First Post

Hello Y'all! This is my first EVER blog and blog post! Super excited about all the potential things to come with this and the people I hope to come in contact with! My goal for this whole blog, is to connect with other siblings and people who have someone with Down Syndrome in their family, our own little place to communicate and stay in touch those special angels! I am the oldest sister of three, and our baby brother Thomas was born with Down Syndrome September 19th. He is 19 years old, going on the big 2-0 in just a few short months...WOW!!! I spend almost everyday with him as his caretaker and personal care attendant. During the summer we spend ALL day together, he calls it "Camp Ral"....if your wondering what Ral means, well here's the background on that, because it will be used quite often on our blog, and when I say our I mean Thomas and I's, more less his! Ral is a name my brother made up for me, and it basically combines my middle name, which is Ariel, and somehow turned into Ral. But gotta love him for it and all his unique ways! I feel my life has been completely enriched just because of him! He makes everyday matter and brightens any moment. I love him to no end and I thank God for creating such a wonderful and special miracle to not only share with my family and I, but with the world! Thomas is truly a celebrity, I envy him just a little for that, but I respect and love him for all of the things he is and the man he is becoming! I hope this blog allows for me to share him with others, because he truly is a remarkable and wonderful guy to get to know...and I don't just say that because he is my baby brother. Happy Following :)
